Child Protection

CYSD works with children in communities impacted by the ongoing crisis in the Anglophone regions of Cameroon to help them heal from the trauma of witnessing unimaginable acts of violence. Our comprehensive child protection services are designed to support these vulnerable young minds in overcoming their traumatic experiences and rebuilding their sense of safety and well-being. Our activities include

  1. Trauma Counseling and Psychological Support: Providing individual and group therapy sessions to help children process their experiences and develop coping mechanisms.
  2. Safe Spaces for Children: Creating safe, nurturing environments where children can engage in play, learning, and social interaction away from the dangers of conflict.
  3. Educational Support and Reintegration: Offering educational resources and assistance to help children return to school and continue their studies in a supportive environment.
  4. Life Skills and Resilience Building: Teaching children essential life skills and resilience techniques to empower them to face challenges and build a positive future.
  5. Community Awareness and Advocacy: Engaging communities in discussions about the importance of child protection and advocating for the rights and safety of children.
  6. Collaboration with Local and International Partners: Working with government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of our child protection initiatives and ensure a coordinated response to the needs of affected children.
