Area of Need

The Centre for Youth and Sustainable Development (CYSD) is currently welcoming applications from both local and international volunteers eager to contribute their skills and enthusiasm in at least two of the following areas of interest:

1. Village and Community Development Planning:

  • Assist in organizing meetings with villagers to identify and address local problems.
  • Design action plans to resolve pressing issues affecting the community.

2. Computer Training and Vocational Skills:

  • Organize computer classes for children, including school and holiday sessions.
  • Provide computer application, leadership, and entrepreneurship training for women and adults.

3. Human Rights Education and Advocacy/Civic Education:

  • Teach human rights in schools and communities.
  • Organize human rights educational and advocacy workshops, particularly in the South West Region.

4. Leadership and Governance Education:

  • Contribute to leadership and governance education programs in schools.

5. Family Planning in Rural Villages and Schools:

  • Work on family planning initiatives in rural areas and schools.

6. Fundraising and Grant Search:

  • Search for grants and funding sources to support CYSD’s various activities.
  • Identify donors for the sponsorship program.

7. Environmental Education in Secondary Schools:

  • Prepare materials and conduct lectures on key environmental management issues in schools.

Peer Education:

  • Set up and facilitate peer education workshops, ensuring knowledge transfer among young participants.

Community Sports:

  • Utilize sports as a medium to convey messages about HIV/AIDS and other social issues.

Livelihood Project:

  • Work on behalf of villagers to seek advice from experts.
  • Assist in finding new income-generating opportunities for villagers and fundraising to initiate projects.

For highly professional volunteers, opportunities exist to serve as program or project coordinators/associates, or as fundraising managers.
